Stockyards Theatre Project is devoted to "giving volume to the voices of women." This theatre company serves as a collaborative, ongoing theatre project whose mission is to help support and promote women in all aspects of theatre.

As Chicago is one of the most thriving theatre communities the name Stockyards Theatre Project pays homage to our home city. The stockyards, centered in Chicago, served as the core where raw materials were transformed and dispersed to feed our growing nation. Along with filling the plates of the working families building this country this city also offered up brilliant minds and workers who shared modern innovations, business creations as well as arts and literature.

One of the unknown stories of the stockyards is that half the work force was women and children. So Stockyards Theatre Project is telling the untold stories of women through the voice and eyes of Chicago. The company was created in 1999 and in 2006 Francesca created a writing program known as Play for Keeps
